hello hello! i'm cat, and this is my (our) blog. i write a lot about motherhood and try to find the creative in our day to day lives. i also may share photo sessions as they come my way or a photos series i may be doing as a personal project. maybe a new recipe we're all loving at the moment. instagrams and dr. seuss quotes. this is also a space for me to just write. i've always been a lover of words. grab a cuppa brew and have a browse. cheers.

Last weekend, in the quaint little town of Pinehurst, NC, Brian married Stephanie in front of their son, Milo, and their closest family and friends. I felt a connection with these two immediately, even after the first email, when I found out about their little boy. Having planned a wedding not too long ago ourselves with a baby is no small task, something about having kids just seems to tie people together. Despite their jobs, their toddler, and of course planning the entire affair, Steph + Brian were completely at ease, relaxed, and simply enjoyed each other and their day. I love that about them. I mentioned their easygoing natures in the post of their engagement pictures, and it clearly showed through even more on their wedding day. I love that they were able to see the big picture, that at the end of the day it’s not about the flowers or the food or the place settings (although all those things were done beautifully and I will certainly showcase them below :) ) but it was about the commitment they were making to each other. Simple, yet profound, as that.

A huge thank you, to both of you, for having me be apart of your day. You and your families were nothing but welcoming to me and made me fee right at home. I wish you all the best in your new life as a little family, enjoy it!

I met the girls over at Stephanie’s grandmother’s house to document the getting ready process. Stephanie’s beautiful gown was designed and made by her talented friend and fellow FIT graduate, Michelle Stokes.

Love, love the beautiful arrangement, put together by Stephanie’s sister, Ashley, who is soon to be a Mrs. as well. The necklace Stephanie wore has special meaning also, as it belonged to Brian’s grandmother.

The ceremony took place at the Arboretum at Pinehurst, a gorgeous setting made even more perfect by amazing weather.

Milo, Brian + Stephanie’s adorable 16 month old. He was anxious to get to daddy…

…which amused the crowd. How could such a cutie not? :)

Moments after becoming Mr. + Mrs.

A few more shots of just the bride + groom outside the reception venue, which took place at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst.

I loved how each and every table setting was unique…Stephanie + Brian collected vintage plates and tea cups in the months leading up to their wedding. I loved the end result!

And I’ll end with these–a perfect representation of their reception, two people in love as they danced the night away.

I needed more tissues while viewing these than during the actual wedding! As predicted, you’re photos captured every moment beautifully. It is truly special to see an acquaintance describe Brian and Steph, and their love for each other the way I see them. And, the kind words you expressed validates what I see in my son and his new bride whenever I visit or speak with them. It’s easy as Brian’s mom to be proud, but they do have a deep love and beautiful relationship.

Thank you again for your amazing talents and time invested!
