Yes, I’m still alive, but barely. Ok, perhaps I’m being a bit over dramatic, but being sick and uncomfortable for weeks on end is just wearing. I know there is light at the end of the tunnel, and in reality baby #2 will be here before I am ready for him/her, but right now all I can seem to focus on is counting down the days until I start feeling normal again! Hopefully sooner rather than later…
In the meantime, a shot from second shooting with the wonderful Jen Arthur over the weekend, full post coming soon…
Aaliya wasn’t too sure about me initially, but once she warmed up to the idea of having a stranger point a camera in her face for two hours, there was no stopping this little one. The Wadhwa family and I wandered around the NC Museum of Art this past weekend to grab some one year pictures of their little girl, as well as a few family shots. We were blessed with gorgeous weather, beautiful sunlight, and one cute toddler. Many thanks, Saurabh and Rashmi, for having me capture your family, you were a delight to photograph. Enjoy…
We decided to kill two birds with one stone. What better way to build both of our portfolios, plus get some now rare girl time in, than to plan a vintage styled shoot? We basically played dress up for grown ups. It was a no brainer.
My good friend Stephanie Simpson and I collaborated around the idea of getting her some pictures to build her portfolio and showcase her work as a hair stylist, mainly done for weddings and other formal events. We decided it would be even more fun to style it as a vintage shoot, ask our girlfriends to be our models, and make an afternoon of it. Stephanie styled herself as well as our two other models, Melissa Ward and Chelsea Campbell; they all looked absolutely beautiful and I was in photographer heaven getting to shoot these stunning ladies and all of the details.
Stephanie is in the process of putting together a blog for her business, but in the meantime, if you’d like to contact her, be her friend on Facebook:) What did we do before Facebook?! I guess email, but FB is so much more fun!
Thanks, ladies, for such a fun afternoon! You all looked stunning
